Bab Sraija Coordination Committee

06 May 2013

The Syrian Revolution Coordination Committee for Bab Sraija, Shawkia, and the Surrounding Area was established on Feb. 13, 2012 to provide media coverage of civil movements and activities in these neighborhoods of Damascus.

The committee’s Facebook page exists to cover events in Baramka, Qanawat, Bab Sreija, Shawkeyah and other neighborhoods in the area.

The group focuses on recording and documenting protests and anti-regime movements on one hand, and regime violations of shelling, murder, torture, kidnapping and detention on the other. The group offers classes teaching people how to record protest videos, upload them to Youtube, and then share them on other social media platforms. They also teach classes revolving around basic first aid, teaching people how to deal with incidences of choking, burns and broken bones. The group has also worked to distribute leaflets, first aid books and tutorials.
