Doha Hassan’s article “Militarised Youth”, an opinion piece on autocracy in the Syrian educational system, won her the 2013 Samir Kassir Award for freedom of the press,”opinion article” category. She dedicated the award to all the journalists that were killed trying to cover the situation in Syria, and to journalists behind bars.
